I'm alive...

No didn't have any near death experiences lately, just blogging for the first time in forever... though I did make effective use of an airplane seat belt last weekend coming back from Virginia Back Half. Hit a bout of turbulence so hard it knocked a flight attendant on her behind and left the contents of her cart in the laps of passages. Quick update on 63:34 half, content with it.

Yes I have beard, and I'm keeping it....until the novelty wares off.

I'm racing once more before STWM. 10k National road champs at the TO Zoo. Enjoy running this race, and good prize money too, so might as well.

70minutes of Tempo yesterday went well, especially for having some of that half still my legs. Next week we'll get after an ever longer one, the once in a build-up marathon simulation. Before Houston it was -9 and snow covered roads, and Toronto 30degrees+ and humid! Thinking next week we'll have best weather conditions yet for this workout.

Go Elaine!

I wanted to take a chance to offer some encouragement and support to someone who has been on the sidelines of many of my races cheering me on! My sister in law
Elaine (Em's youngest sister) is going to be participating in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Charity Challenge. She will be doing the 5 km walk/run taking place on October 16th, 2011. Elaine is a member of the The ABLE Network, a community based, non profit, organization that provides young adults with intellectual disabilities meaningful employment and recreational opportunities. All funds that she raises in the STWM Charity Challenge will directly to support this organization. So I am going to go find my wallet ( misplaced it again for the millionth time) and help Elaine reach her goal, I encourage others to do the same!
