Parkersburg Half Marathon this weekend

Traveling to West Virgina this weekend to race a half marathon as part of our preparation for Toronto. Reid and I are both doing it. The course description is a hilly one which may prevent a quick time. But really you'd be hard pressed to find a place in Canada or the US  you can expect to run fast at in the middle of August.

Runner'sWorld

Chatted with Runner'sWorld yesterday.

What were the components of the 40k workout?

EG: It was an hour easy run, 30-minute tempo at race pace, then 15 minutes easy, and a 30-minute progression starting out at race pace and just going faster, finishing at less than 3:00 per kilometer for the last two kilometers.

update

10,000m Nationals last week did feel great. I had a nagging injury for most of June that caused my right side to become tight and sore, it just made everything a little tougher.

After a few treatments from Speed Rivers physiotherapist Brenda Scott-Thomas, and RMT Marcell Meresz I'm feeling MUCH better! Something unlocked and my range of motion has increased substantially. Not out of the woods yet but very confident we have it under control.

Today was a VO2 max session, 5xmile on the roads around Exhibition park for Reid and I. Started at 9am and humidex was already at 30 degrees. Workout went excellent, ave 4:25 per mile, finished strong!
