Heading South

Tomorrow a group of us set off for Auburn, Alabama to escape winter for a few weeks. The trip comes at a good time as just yesterday the snow contributed to a new first, ran 70mins around a 187m indoor track, roughly 85 laps, yikes! As mind numbing as that sounds it actually went by fast, being able to see the snow coming down outside helped.

I've been running in the New Balance 1063 for about a week now and they've really grown on me. I get a responsive feel from them, meaning they give me feedback from the surface I'm running on. It's important to feel the ground beneath me and know my foot it striking the ground properly.

Talk to you again when I'm far far away from snow and ice!

New Shoes

What's new... Well I've switched to wearing New Balance shoes and apparel. The company started a partnership with our club last year, providing funds and gear. I placed an order for 903 and 1063 shoes. The 1063 are a switch from stability to neutral for me, I'll let you know how they feel.

It's been cold and snowy the past few weeks here in Guelph. A few of us are heading to Alabama at months end to get in a couple weeks of warm weather training. We'll be staying in Auburn, which as far as I know hasn't seen snow in forever, can't wait! I'm not expecting to race much this winter. Training is keeping me busy and progressing nicely.
